2 Cor. 3:1 – 5:10 – Enduring Hope

  • Section Main Idea: Through the New Covenant, we have an enduring hope that empowers us to endure until the end.

2 Corinthians 3 – Glory to Glory

Main Idea: The New Covenant brings radical, spiritual transformation to a Christian’s life.

  • 1-6
    • Faithful followers of Christ are living .
      • APPLICATION: People are better than papers.
    • New Covenant transformation brings spiritual change.
  • 7-11
    • New Covenant transformation brings greater . (v. 7-8)
    • New covenant transformation brings . (v. 9)
    • New Covenant transformation to the end. (v. 10-11)
      • APPLICATION: The more you spend time with the Lord, the more you reflect his glory to the world.
    • 12-18
      • New Covenant transformation produces ! (v. 12-16)
      • New Covenant transformation produces ! (v. 17)
      • New Covenant transformation produces ! (v. 18)
        • APPLICATION: If you have a friend/loved one who seems blind to the glory of the gospel, be bold and pray for the Holy Spirit to do His work.

2 Corinthians 4 – Don’t Give Up

Main Idea: Don’t give up.

  • 1-6
    • Don’t give up because Christ has the darkness.
      • APPLICATION: No one is too far out of God’s reach.
    • 7-15
      • Don’t give up because God’s ________ is greater than our ________.
      • Don’t give up because God hasn’t on you.
      • Don’t give up because better are ahead.
      • Don’t give up because God has a  in your pain.
        • APPLICATION: Faith in Christ moves us to action; it energizes us to keep going, to keep living and speaking for Christ.
      • 16-18
        • Don’t give up because what you ________ is greater than what you ________.
          • APPLICATION: What is it that you’re tempted to give up on today? Don’t give up because God’s not done with you yet.

2 Corinthians 5:1-10 – Faith, Not Sight

Main Idea: In Christ, we have the confident hope of an eternal dwelling that fuels our endurance..

  • 1-6
    • Death, Resurrection, and the Intermediate State
    • God’s end game is a resurrected  on a resurrected ________.
      • APPLICATION: Live in the hope of eternity.
    • 7-10
      • The confident hope of an eternal dwelling motivates us to walk by ________ and not by ________.
      • The confident hope of an eternal dwelling motivates us to be ________ to the Lord.
        • APPLICATION: Run the race with endurance in such a way as to win the prize.
