• “Bringing Church to People: Pastoring Both inside and outside the Church Walls” – An essential element of Progression Church’s ongoing existence is bivocational ministry, as the church can only support one member of its five-person pastoral team. These bivocational ministers have found, however, that, despite the resultant challenges, working in the professional world has paved the way for avenues of ministry that would have otherwise been unavailable.
• “The Pillar of Intentionality: Utilizing Every Sphere of Influence for Gospel-Centered Service” – Beyond his role as pastor, Scott Tafoya works as a bus driver, a college professor, and a professional coach. But throughout all four of these roles, he remains a full-time minister, as he intentionally utilizes each of his vocations as a mission field.
• “Two Vocations, One Calling: Living a Missional Model for Discipleship” – For Francis Calimbahin, pastor of Caprock Church in Arlington, Texas, being bivocational is a choice rather than a last resort, for his work as a physical therapist affords him numerous opportunities to model a missional life in a job he loves. And as he develops relationships and trust with patients, he often finds open doors to share the Gospel.
