Why Equip The Called?
Equipping God-called men and women for ministry
We’re all living in an unfamiliar world. New technologies go from science fiction to science fact to old news within weeks. The COVID-19 pandemic shook our communities to the breaking point, with many still scrambling for their new normal. Biblical truths that were once broadly assumed are now hotly debated. Ministry strategies that have been fruitful for decades are now strangely barren. And for many ministry leaders, the chasm between the confidence of their seminary days and confusion of their daily service is deep, wide, and exponentially growing.

The Mission
To apply God’s unchanging Word to his ever-changing world.
God’s Word is still living and active. God’s people are still faithful and creative. And Equip The Called exists to help hold these two together. With Scripture as our firm foundation, we foster ministry innovation and creativity in the Southern Baptist Convention and beyond.

The Vision
To see God’s people confidently and creatively pursuing the Great Commandment and the Great Commission
We long to see the people of God loving him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matt. 22:37). And we long to see the family of God making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe everything Christ has commanded (Matt. 28:19-20). These two callings have not changed, and we eagerly anticipate how God will lead his people to fulfill them in these uncertain times.
